Robert Herbert Menzies passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Healthsource of Saginaw. Age 69 years. He was born February 28, 1943 in Dorena, Missouri to Luceain and Sibby Menzies.
Robert resided in Saginaw, Michigan for numerous years. He was a General Motors retiree and a member of Macadonia Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family. One of his favorite things to do was fishing. He loved to dance and have fun. He was a good man that would give to anyone. He also enjoyed working on cars and bikes.
He leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Bernice York; one daughter, Jessica (Bion) Henderson; two sons, Robert H. Menzies Jr., James Anthony Menzies; three step children, Terry Parker, Elvira Walton, Saejar Parker; grandchildren, Jermainah Wright, Vincent Wright Jr., Martreona Fayne, Bionca Henderson, DeAndre Parker, Dayionce Humphrey, Tanisha Menzies; one great granddaughter; four sisters, Lizzie (Harry) Carruth, Nadine (Willie) Bonds, Flora Burnett, Queen Lester; one special brother, Roosevelt (Ruby) Menzies; seventeen nieces; eighteen nephews; mother-in-law, Elvira York; six sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; many other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Luceain and Sibby Menzies; five brothers, Paul, L.C., Ernest, John, Bobby Joe Menzies; three sisters, Geneva, Maggie Mae, Atta B. Menzies.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all doctors, nurses and caretaker staff at Healthsource of Saginaw. The family would also like for Roosevelt and Ruby Menzies to know that we sincerely appreciate your love, kindness and caring.
