Robert T. Holmes "Buddy Baby"

Mr. Robert T. Holmes passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Healthsource Saginaw. Age 88 years. He was born September 29, 1934, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Cleophas (Buddy) Holmes and Recie Thomas.

Robert loved being around his family and friends and listening to the Blues. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting baseball cards and many other collectibles, and raising Beagles. Robert retired from General Motors (Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry) in 1980. He was affiliated with UAW Local 668. 

Robert leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Loretta Baldridge, and Michelle Holmes, both of Saginaw, Michigan, and Dorthera Gaskew, Indianapolis, Indiana; bonus daughter, Wilma (Melvin) Brown, Saginaw, Michigan; bonus son, Robert (Ann) Frazier, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren, Takiyah M. Gaskew, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Darnesha Y. Gaskew, Indianapolis, Indiana, Rawleigh E. Madlock Jr., Arsenio Krashad Dukes, Tashonda J. Payne, and Brittany L. Blackwell, all of Saginaw, Michigan, James Baldridge, Little Elm, Texas, and Jerry L Pittmon.Jr.; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; four sisters, Emma Nell Simington, Atlanta, Texas, Evelyn Gribsby, Texarkana, Arkansas, Lawana Holmes, Magnolia, Arkansas, LaFran Holmes Davis, Doddridge, Arkansas; nine brothers, Jarvis Holmes, and Kim Holmes, Cedar Hill, Texas, Julius Holmes, and Benny Earl Holmes, Texarkana, Arkansas, Udell (Alma) Holmes and Cleophas Holmes, Jr., Saginaw, Michigan, Doyle Johnson, Detroit, Michigan, Fenton Holmes, Doddridge, Arkansas, and Michael Holmes, Houston, Texas; and one aunt, Bernice Larry, Kansas City, Missouri;

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Cleophas Holmes and Recie Thomas; son, Eric Moore; his lifelong partner, Jewel Holmes; brothers, Clark Lee, Mitchell Earl, Ladell, Bobby Douglas, and Venice Leon Holmes; sisters, Florine Tyson, Corine Holmes, and Dorothy May Robinson.
