Robert Washington

Mr. Robert Washington passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 87 years. Robert was born September 10, 1935, in Stamps, Arkansas, to Ruben and Losie Washington.

Mr. Washington was a resident of Saginaw Township, Michigan. He was a former member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and he was also affiliated with the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation. He was a God-fearing, God-believing Christian. Robert spent many years in real estate being a landlord and helping the community thrive by giving people a chance to own their own homes. Robert enjoyed playing cards, especially Coon, and his favorite pastime was playing dominos. He loved being around his family and he was “The Best Dad Ever!”

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Janice Roberson and Jean Lynnette Washington, both of Houston, Texas, Rosalind (Harold) McCray, Saginaw, Michigan, Lochelle Washington of Atlanta, Georgia, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, Roxanna Blunt, and Roneisha Long, both of Saginaw, Michigan; one son, Jeremiah Washington, Detroit, Michigan; and one daughter/granddaughter, Brittney (Abner) Lopez, Clarkston, Michigan; one sister, Betty Jewel Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Marcellus “Nick” Washington, Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren, Alfonzo, Robert Harold, Ashley, Calandis, Deanna, Pey’Shence, DarReyon, Mariah, Messiah, and  Andraya; many other relatives and friends including nine great-grandchildren; a host  of cousins; special cousin, Elder Luegene “Champ” Washington. 

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Washington; parents, Ruben and Losie Washington; five brothers, James, Gene, Houston, J.C., and Arthur Washington; four sisters, Bobbie Vanlanham, Doris Merrill, Patricia Washington, and Mary Wesson; one daughter, Cierra Long, and one son, Robert Washington.
