Roberta Jackson

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Sister passed away Monday, September 13, 2021. Mrs. Roberta (Williams) Jackson was born on July 17, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama to Lloyd Williams and Katie Mae (Ward) Williams. She was the second oldest of three children.

At the age of 16, Roberta moved to Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School, Delta College, and Lasalle Extension University American Law and Procedures. She also spoke French and Latin. Soon after moving to Saginaw, she met and married Ernest V. Landrum Jr., Later, she married Madison Jackson. Roberta raised her children and baptized them at Prince of Peace Baptist Church in Saginaw. She later attended Solid Rock Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. She spent most of her adult life in Saginaw, and later in life relocated to Detroit and Pontiac, Michigan to live with her daughter, Rowchelle. Roberta loved the Lord Jesus Christ, raising her children, reading, and studying. She will always be cherished and missed by her family.

Mrs. Jackson leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Rowchelle Jackson Yates, Pontiac, Michigan, son, “Pookie” Ernest (Lynda) V. Landrum, III, Lansing, Michigan, grandchildren, Lance’s children Linda, Lance, and Lewis Long, Lee Amos and Jimmy Johnson Saginaw, Michigan. Pookie’s children, Yolanda Barefield, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Ernest (Jacqueline Barry) V. Landrum IV, Fulton, Maryland, Tamyka Rennee' Jones, Lansing, Michigan, Eric Dwayne Braddock, Saginaw, Michigan, Cathy’s son Christian (Charla) Steward, Bellevue, Nebraska; brother, Clarence (Connie) Williams; sister-in-law, Margaret Sue Brodus, Saginaw, Michigan, and uncle, Napoleon Williams Sr., Birmingham, Alabama; she also leaves adopted grandchildren, Naeemah G. Hardison, Regina (Antoine) Hillman, Angelic Hunter, Adrianna Hunter, Tyron (Amy) Scott Sr., and Tyron Scott Jr.; close cherished friends, Calvin Hardison, Augusta Woods, and Elijah Woods; a host of other grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd (Katie Mae) Williams, husband, Madison Jackson, sons, Alexander Van Jackson, Madison Jackson Jr., Lance Lennell Landrum, daughter, Cathy Lavern (Jackson) Steward, brother, Lloyd Williams, Jr., and adopted granddaughter Pookie’s, daughter Kimberly Ann Jones, Saginaw, Michigan.
