Mrs. Roberta Smith, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and spiritual sister passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 6:42 p.m.. Roberta was born August 19, 1916 in Brent, Alabama to Ed and Mary Wallace Tubbs. She was the last child to expire of that union.
She was a member of the Saginaw North Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses and cherished going out in the field service preaching the Good News of Gods Kingdom.
Everyone seemed to love Roberta whether they knew her for years or recently. She was a warm, loving and generous person who left a profound impression upon all she met.
Roberta leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Edward McVay of Cleveland, OH; five daughters, Mary (L.C.) Richardson, Dorothy (William) Martin, Brenda (Sammy) Culberson all of Saginaw, MI, Lois Hopkins and Lenda Vassall of El Paso, TX; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Henry Smith; son, Walter McVay; grandson, Antonio Hopkins; brother, Yancy Tubbs, and sisters, Mary Etta McVay and Susie Prewitt.
The family of Roberta would like to express special thanks to all our friends for flowers, cards and for helping the family through our hours of bereavement. Never more than now was your kindness needed and more appreciated.
