Mr. Robin Paul Ellis passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at his residence. Age 64 years. He was born January 1, 1950 in Lansing, Michigan to Thomas Paul Ellis and Barbara Mae Smith.
Robin was a graduate of Everett High School. He worked as an electrical apprentice under his father. Robin was the oldest of five children. He was active in sports, school activities and enjoyed helping others. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 in Koreas 38th parallel in the 2nd infantry division and Redeye missile section. Robin additionally served in the Michigan National Guard from 1980-1983 as a TOW and Dragon Missile technician.
Robin attended Lansing Community College and Ferris State University receiving Bachelors in Trade and Technical Education. He later attended Michigan State University for a Masters Degree in Education Administration. He also obtained Master Journeyman Electrician as well.
He was a great teacher and coach. His teaching and coaching was wide ranged. He believed in developing body, mind and spirit for good success in life. He imparted these values to his only child Rob Ellis and those whom he taught, coached and loved.
Robin leaves to cherish his memory one son, Rob (Priscilla) Ellis; three grandchildren, Keliah, Cayla and Elijah Ellis; step parents, Phyllis Ellis and Gary Richmond; one sister, Julie Wilson; three brothers, Randy, Thomas and Barry Ellis; two nieces, Aneisa Ellis and Lauren Wilson; one nephew, Jordan Wilson; five cousins, Delores Hughes, Jeff Butler, Rudy, Jerry and Donnie Abood; two sisters-in-law, Renee Ellis and Sandy Sholl Ellis; many other relatives and friends including special friends Bob Adrian and Bill Price.
Robin was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Paul Ellis and Barbara Mae Smith, grandparents Skonder and Hboub Ellis, Erma Martin and John Smith, aunts and uncles.
