Mr. Ronald Standley Davis departed this life on Monday, October 1, 2012 at his residence. Age 64 years. He was born November 8, 1947 in Gary, Indiana to the late M. B. Davis and Ernestine Banks-Walker. He resided in Indiana where he was tenderly loved and cared for by his grandmother, the late Louise Davis. He was affectionately known to those who knew him as Game-tight.
Ronald was a member of the Zion Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan where he received many State and National Track & Field awards as well as Wrestling honors. Ronald considered himself as the greatest handyman in the world and was employed in various positions throughout Saginaw. His last place of employment was Saginaw Valley Rehabilitation Center (SVRC). Due to his dwindling health he retired from the workforce in 1995. Additionally, Ronald took pleasure in listening to music and enjoyed dancing. He considered himself as a Master Gamer. His true hobby was surfing the social media networks. Ronald enjoyed watching sporting events, especially at Saginaw High School, considering himself the true Trojan, determined, strong and courageous. He so loved his family and friends as well as enjoyed life and the people he embraced with over the years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ronald leaves to cherish and celebrate his lifes wonderful memories, his devoted children, Vincent Davis, Stacy (Reginald) Davis-Diggs, Sam E. Pruitt II and their mother Janet L. Pruitt.
Ronald leaves his lifes legacy to his beloved grandchildren, Jimmie Jayvion Davis, Cameron Riley, Samantha Bean, J'nae Bean, Taylor Davis, Nia Riley, Braylon Diggs, and Christian Pruitt; one great-grandchild, Jordyn Janae Davis; his older brother, Albert ( Betty) Robinson; one god-sister, Sandra (Timothy) Russ-Lowery; his extended family members, Matthew Robinson, Margret Brown, Rose McBride, Beverly Thomas, Ellen Robinson, Terri Robinson, and Kimberly Ann Robinson.
Ronald had a host of very exceptional family members who he loved and they too will miss him. His roommate and devoted nephew, Sheldon Surles, Jimmy Beavers, Clifford (Cora) Banks, Timothy Robinson, Howard Robinson, Anthony Robinson , Curtis Beavers; several special nieces, Jayniece (Meco) Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Tonya Beavers Young, Ernestine (Richard) Parker, Angela Beavers-Staton, Dieardra Beavers, Corniethia (Marvell) Harvey, Adrienne Beavers, Serena Beavers, LaKishna Beavers, Tangela (Elvin) Owens; in-laws, Barbara Craion, Charla Taylor, Syliva Taylor, Marvin (Gladys) Craion, Carl Taylor, and Emmet ( Brenda )Landry.
In addition, he will be missed by his very special cousins, Mary L. Jones, Elkhart, Indiana, Ernest (Johnny-Boy) Flowers, James Hadden and Derrick McCloud; his companion, Kathleen Gower, Bay City, Michigan; very special friends, Joseph Glass, Frederick Harvey, Jay Pappa Jay Williams, Derrick Mitchell, Sonya Dixon, Sandra Sanders, Doloris Mixon, Spring Riley and Brittnye Jones, many other relatives and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, M.B. Davis, mother, Ernestine O. Banks, step-father, Clifford Banks, sister, Frankie Mae Robinson-Phillips; grandmother, Lousie Davis, a very dear sister-in-law, Sharon Surles.
The family would like to express special thanks to Cynthia Joseph, Aprille Moultrie, Ivan Phillips, Carlis Jackson, Reverend Dr. Marvin T. Smith and the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, Sharon Floyd, Dan Burns, Dr. Sue. Tobin, Dr. James. Littles, and Dr. Tazeed Ahmed with Bay McLaren-Bay Region and their Hospice staff and to everyone who offered a kind word, prayers and condolences..
