Ronald Stapleton 'Sput'

September 13, 1957 — February 20, 2015

Mr. Ronald Lee Stapleton Sput departed this earthly life for his place in the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, February 20, 2015. Age 57 years. He was born September 13, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan to Verna Ellis and Herbert Stapleton.
Ronald was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan who attended Saginaw Public Schools. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John L. Williams Sr. Ronald was employed as a truck driver for Stone Transport before acquiring a job as a deliverer of nuclear medicine for different hospitals throughout Michigan. He enjoyed fishing in his boat, especially for crappies and he loved to play dominoes with his uncle. Ronald was also a gifted musician who has played bass guitar with several groups such as: G.S. Express, Breeze, Soul Express and Warning Shot. He also played guitar for New Life Baptist Church. Ronalds pleasant and friendly personality endeared him to everyone who met him. His wonderful presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fiance, Sandra Johnson; three sons, Derek Smith of Lakeland, Florida, Jonathan and Aaron (Michelle) Wilson both of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; three grand-daughters, DeAira, DeAiraka and Amiyah Smith; two grandsons, Noah and Abel Wilson; parents, Verna (John) Ellis and Herbert Stapleton; grandmother, Evelyn Murphy; five sisters, Mary Collins of Saginaw, Michigan, Rebecca McAdory, Livinia (Maurice) Elliot, Rosanna (Lawrence) Knowles and Tina Collins-Waller all of Florida; four brothers, Roland Stapleton of Alabama, Randy, Robert and Ronald R. Stapleton all of Saginaw, Michigan; four nieces and five nephews; one uncle, Ronald Williams Sr.; many other relatives and friends including special friend, Mary Sue Stewart of Lake City, Michigan.
Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Stapleton, grandfather, John Jackson and great-grandmother, Girtha Green.
The family wishes to express special thanks to nurses Heather and Jamie of St. Marys of Michigan 3 South Unit, nursing assistant Kimberly of 3 South Unit, nurses Michelle and Gina of St. Marys of Michigan 4 south unit, his oncologist Dr. Asma Taj and the Central Michigan University Medical residents.
Visitation: Friday, February 27, 2015 - 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
