Ronald Bruno Welch

April 6, 1960 — December 25, 2024

Mr. Ronald Bruno Welch passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the blessed age of 64 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was the last child born to Roosevelt and Lucy (Scott) Welch on April 6, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan.

Ronald grew up in a Christian home and declared his faith in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. His Christian background kept his faith grounded. Ronald was educated in Saginaw Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1979. Ronald was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged after eight years of faithful service.

Ronald worked several jobs; Olive Garden, Vlasic Pickle Factory, and Zehnder’s. He enjoyed singing in the Men’s choir at Candlelight Baptist Church. He also enjoyed reading his bible and citing verses, going on long walks, painting houses, and playing basketball. He enjoyed volunteering at churches in Grand Rapids and many other organizations. 

Ronald leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Lakechia Sharese Welch Parham, Bay City, Michigan; two sons, Ronyell Devon Burton and Andrae Bruno Welch, of Saginaw, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Jazzlyn (Jarrod) Brown, Jaylynn, Jamil and Jamoni Bowes, Demarquayveon Chism, Da’ Veon Welch, and Arieyanna Burton all of Saginaw, Michigan; son-in-law, David Parham, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Theresa Welch; one sister, Yvonne Bell, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Aaron (Mary) Welch, Saginaw Michigan; nieces, Kimberly Williams, Houston, Texas, Neike Bell and Ashanta Welch, Saginaw, Michigan; nephews, Michael Welch, and Jaime Bell Sr., Saginaw, Michigan and Demetrius Wright, Houston, Texas; many other relatives and friends, including special friends Carl Gordon, David Gordon and Greg Brown.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Lucy and Roosevelt Welch, grandson, Ronyell Burton Jr., sister Deborah Wright, and brother Daniel Welch.

The family would like to acknowledge the donations provided during this time of need to help with Ronald's homegoing. A special thanks to Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
