Mr. Ronnie Lee Jones passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 70 years. He was born on August 25, 1950 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Ester Jones, II, and Lula Mae Walker.
Ronnie was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of Refreshing Life Ministries, and a graduate of Martin Luther King High School. Ronnie was employed at General Motors Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 668. Ronnie loved to cook and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included collecting knives and baseball and basketball memorabilia. Ronnie enjoyed listening to jazz and R&B music and going to jazz concerts and festivals; his favorite singer was Toni Braxton. He also enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows, comedy shows, and Sports Center. Ronnie enjoyed traveling to Vegas and Florida.
Ronnie Leave to cherish loving memories two daughters and five sons, David (Felicia) Layton, Shalena Layton, Tenisha (Derrik) Martin, Markiess Layton, and Eric Layton all of Saginaw, Michigan, Kenyatta Jones, Decatur, Illinois, and Ronald Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; 5 step-children, Pecolia Thomas, Breeshay Thomas, Willie Lytle, Reggie Cooper and Rennika Thomas, all of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Gabriel, A’Niyah, Jayden, De’Tayvius, Ar’Tayja, Daniel, Izayah, Quan’Tayveon, Saniya, Cori, Tamarus, T’aijah, Eric Jr., Rae’el, Lyric, Lamareiana, Damarcus, Ta’mon, Anaree, De’marius, Ashanti, Keyshawna, and Talina, all of Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Stephanie Walker, Frisco, Texas, Beverly Jones and Kathy Wilson, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers, Superintendent Edward (Vera) Jones, Birch Run, Michigan, Ester III (Joann) Jones, Timber Pines, Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts; three uncles, John Usher, Detroit, Michigan, James Usher, Chicago, Illinois and John Butler, Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Daniel Morris, Sr., Felicia Haywood, Janice C. Jones, Estella Layton, Jackie Thomas, Cory Morris, Gilliam Haywood, Lazree Williams, and Tierra Haywood, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Jim Tyson, Flint, Michigan.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Ester Jones, II, Lula Mae Walker, and his twin brother, Lonnie Jones.
