Rosalind Davis (Lansing)

Ms. Rosalind Ann Davis went home to be with her Lord, January 12, 2022, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 59 years. She was born to Maxine and J.D. Davis, Jr. on August 14, 1962, in Lansing, Michigan.

Rosalind was a lifelong resident of Lansing. She attended Everett High School and later in life worked at Motel 6 for 14 years, leaving as the head housekeeper and becoming an adult care worker until her client passed away. Rosalind, aka “Rocky” was loving, delicate, patient, giving and any other positive analogy you can think of. She went out of her way to ensure that her family was happy and taken care of. Rocky was the life of the party especially when the right Blues song came on. She enjoyed her time with her family no matter the capacity or reason. Rosalind could light up a room with her beautiful smile.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Termaine (Ashley) Brooks; 5 grandchildren, Yaylla Donald, Ava, Mya, Maxine, and Gaberiella Brooks; 3 sisters, Dawn Davis, Beverly Davis, and Sheleatha Davis-Brown; brother, J.B. Davis, III; nieces, Danika Davis, Yolanda Covington, Tamekia Davis, and Denisha Brown; nephews, Ronald Davis, Willie Davis, Tyrone (Fatima) Davis, Phillip Davis, Kofi Johnson, and bonus nephew, De’Shawn Cooper; many great and great-great nieces, nephews; aunts, Mary Ruth (Henderson) Plummer, Mozzella Rhodes and Ruby Lee Henry; uncles, James Davis, Jr. and Charles Bates; cousins, other relatives including special cousin, Annette Glassman; special niece, Bre’onna and Denisha; and special nephew, De’Mari, and friends.

Rosalind was met at the Gates by her parents, Maxine and J.D. Davis, Jr.; grandson, Termaine Brooks, Jr. “T.J.”; sister, Belinda Davis; brother, Ron Davis; nephew, great nephew, Ardis Davis; brother-in-law, Wilson Brown; many aunts, uncles, as well as paternal and maternal grandparents.
