Mr. Roscoe Long, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the age of 69 years. He was born July 29, 1946 to Arlie and Jerry Long, Jr. in Geneva, Alabama.
Mr. Long was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Vassar and Alabama Public Schools. Roscoe retired from the Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of UAW Local 668. He was very artistic in the area of drawing. Roscoe also enjoyed cooking, watching sports and walking across town to spend time with his family.
He leaves to cherish memory, his companion of 50 years, Barbara Pipkins; two sons, Alfonzie Pipkins and Dealtoe Pipkins; one daughter, Quentenette Pipkins; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel Mae Long, Mary Louise Long, Lee Ann Donald, Carline Long; three brothers, Narvel, Warren and Wilfred (Brenda) Long; many nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law, Everett (Renae) Pipkins, Joeann (Calvin) Chism, Paul Miller, Eddie Dwayne (Deb) Canada, Pamela Canada and Sylvia Vann.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Jerry Long, Jr., two sisters, Mary Neil and Lorraine Long, three brothers, Winfred, Cecil and Willie Long, two nieces, Lee and Suzie Long and a great-nephew, Matthew Long.
