Mrs. Rose Marie Hicks of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 62 years. She was born February 11, 1950 in Dothan, Alabama to Charlie and Joyce Glanton.
Rose was baptized at New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Laury. She was a 1968 graduate of Saginaw High School. Rose was a daycare provider for over 20 years. On October 16, 1985, she married the love of her life Houston Hicks. Rose loved sending out cards to family and friends. She never missed an occasion to send words of love and encouragement. She enjoyed weekend bus trips, music, cooking, reading and writing poems. Rose especially loved caring for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Houston Hicks; two sons, Kenneth Addison, Byron Hicks (B.J.); three stepchildren, Houston Jr., Marcy and Mahogany Nash; four grandchildren, Minique Macon, Cedric Brooks, Keyon and Brooklyn Addison; fourteen step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Lauren Macon; five step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Robbie Glanton, Champaign, Illinois, Mary Glanton, Killeen, Texas, Sandra (Cass) Wilson, Saginaw, Michigan, Beverly Glanton, Grand Rapids, Michigan; one brother, Michael Jacobs; nieces, Candice, Chanice and Charlay Wilson; great-niece, Hijah Johnson; two nephews, Courtney Glanton and Xavier Gardner; one aunt, Rosalee Brown, Dothan, Alabama; one uncle, Samuel Vickers; mother-in-law, Alice Works; three sisters-in-law, Sherly (Michael) Thomas, Bessie and Charlena Works; four brothers-in-law, Roy (Sandra) Hicks, John Hicks, Charles and James Works; god-daughter, Cangela Blake; many other relatives and friends including special nieces, Mikkala Johnson, Latova and Amonie Works; special cousins, Lorata and Sugg; special friends, Alva James, Sarah Hicks, Joann Jackson, Brenda Carter, Leona Holden.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Joyce Glanton; one son, Cedric Lamar Addison.
