Rosemary Lou Aikens (Lansing)

April 20, 1942 — August 21, 2024

Rosemary Lou Aikens passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Age 82 years. Rosemary was born on Monday, April 20, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan to Robert Aikens and Lola Mae Aikens.

She was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. Rosemary was a 1960 graduate from Lansing Sexton High School. After high school, Rosemary graduated from Lansing Community College in sonography. She worked for the Michigan courts as a sonographer. Rosemary also worked as a secretary for Michigan State University in the Engineering College. She was a beloved employee of the Meijer Corporation where she enjoyed working with the public.

Rosemary played the piano and loved singing in the Choir. She was a student of the bible taking many classes at Mt. Hope Ministry. She loved reading God’s word. Her passion was spending time with her family, especially her daughter, and grandchildren. A family function was incomplete without her being at our barbeques, birthday parties, graduations, showers, and family reunions. Christmas celebrations with family meant everything to Rosemary.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Romaine Malone; two grandchildren; TeAsia and Kasai; brother, Tyroe (Joi) Aikens of Marietta, Georgia; cousin, Bernice Timmons; nieces, Faye Roberson, Cheryl Aikens, Robin Smith, Monique Aikens, Tia Aikens, Darleen Aikens, Lolisha Aikens, Emoni Aikens, Jahnai Aikens, Arianna Stone, Tyla Shirley, and Dawn Aikens; nephews, Andre Aikens, Charles Jr. Aikens, Brian Aikens, Robert Aikens, Anthony Aikens, Robert Yancy, Curtis Jenkins, Joshua Aikens, Julian Rooks, Marcus Jenkins, Maurice Jenkins, Myel Aikens, and Jason Haley; many great nieces and great nephews; sister-in-law, Jean Aikens; and her dear friend, Nuria Ankney.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her father, Robert Aikens; mother, Lola Mae Kemp; brothers, Charles Aikens, Thomas Aikens, Andrew Aikens, Joseph (Alfreda Jackson) Aikens, Gerald Aikens; sisters, Tamara Aikens, Delores Aikens; niece, Darelene Aikens.
