Our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend made her transition from earth to be with her Lord and Savior on November 16, 2012 at 12:42 am at the Houston Hospice Care Center after losing her battle with cancer at the age of 58. She was born July 8, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ida and the late Marshall George.
She graduated from Saginaw High with the class of 1972.She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Word of Faith Ministries before relocating to Houston, Texas in 1999 where she united with Southwest Christian Community Center Church, ("The Bridge") in Houston, Texas; She worked at the Saginaw News for 27years. During that time she met two special friends, Jerry (Dennis) Hall, Juanda (Michael) Taylor and family.
Rosena leaves to cherish her memories, her loving mother, Ida George of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Lorraine (Kenneth) Bond, Plano, Texas; Juanita George, Saginaw, Michigan; one loving brother, Jerome George, Saginaw, Michigan; three nieces, Kaaya Keyan Bond (Sanetrick) Nunn, Plano, Texas, LaTasha C. Hill, Aberdeen, North Carolina, Ciara Charniece Rouster, Richmond, Mississippi; one nephew, Jerrett Marshall McGhee, South Korea, and wife, Toni, Fort Leonardwood, Missouri; three great nephews, one whom she loved dearly, Sanetrick Darnell Bond, Plano, Texas; Jadakiz and Stephon McGhee, both of Fort Lenard Wood, Missouri; one great niece, Tess McGhee, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; special cousins, JW (Lou) Scott, Bellevue, Illinois, Robert (Shirley) George, Grand Rapids, Michigan, John (Lynn) George, Saginaw, Michigan, Ameenah Amad, Powder Springs,Georgia; Rosena had a host of friends in Saginaw, Ohio and Texas.
Rosena was predeceased by her father, Marshall George, One brother, Eugene Palmer, grandmother, Martha Lewis, Uncle, Essie George and Myrtle George-Hinton.
Our family would like to extend a special thanks to Houston Hospice Care Center of Houston, Texas; her very special and devoted friend, Pat (Roy) Berry for her love, support and compassion shown to Rosena. Pat Page, for her love and unlimited support shown to us during our time of need, and cousin, Gwen Bowman.Those who held a special place in Rosenas heart: Mary Black, Pat Ross, Tony Scroggins, Linda Lee, Avis Logan, Sherry Drain-Hannah, Helen Browning, Ameenah Ahmad, and Dan Rouster. Lifelong friends, Faith Lupo and Nora Laury.
Memorial service has taken place on November 21, in Houston, Texas.
