Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, and Sister, Roshawnda Renee Johnson, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Age 40 years. Her journey began in the small town of Saginaw, Michigan, on December 12, 1982, born to loving parents, Alma and Jessie Johnson Jr.
Roshawnda attended Saginaw High School. She was a special and loving daughter, and was always filled with joy and laughter; her pleasant smile would brighten up a room. Roshawnda enjoyed life with her mother, other family, and friends. She played piano at concerts at an early age. Roshawnda was baptized and attended Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her grandfather, Pastor Levi Patten. She was also inspired by the teaching of her grandmother, Flora Patten. Roshawnda’s faith journey continued at Greater Solid Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of her cousin and pastor, Ernest L. Reed. Through the years, Roshawnda shared her beautiful voice singing in the Saginaw Valley Baptist District Choir. She was employed at the Civic Center.
Roshawnda leaves to cherish loving memories, three daughters, Brenae, R’riyae, and Renae Johnson; one son, Marquavius Johnson; two grandchildren, A’nylia Mcculloh and Adonis Burgins; she also leaves loving and compassionate brothers, Eric Stephenson, Anthony (Sheila) Stephenson, Delano (Arnice) Stephenson, and June Payton; sisters, Shalane and Fonda Payton; a special aunt, Mozella Reed; aunts, Gloria Lee, and Annie Fuller; uncle, Edward Johnson; nieces, Erica Frierson, Charquia Stephenson, Shawnta Bond; special loving friends, Taquana Franklin, Candice Moore, Yatarra Brewer, Roxie Davis, Lakeisha Brown, Catherine Troublefield, and Sharice Hooker; many special cousins including Shelona Wilson, Michelle Blair and Latosha Corley; Roshawnda also leaves many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
