Rosie Lee Embry (Lansing)

Rosie Lee Embry, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the age of 82. She was born on November 11, 1932 in Calhoun, Alabama to Frank and Mary Lafayette.
Rosie Lee was a homemaker, who loved to cook and bake for her family as well as the Community. She had a loving and caring heart, who often times provided a warm bed and food to strangers off the street. She loved to sing praises to God and displayed that by forming The Embry Gospel Singers along with her husband, who has ministered in song throughout the United States of America.
Rosie Lee was a member of New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church until her health failed. She was also under watch care at First Church of Nazarene.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, James Embry, Jr., David Embry, Willie Mae Carter, Rosemary Embry-Robinson, Kathy Benson, Dennis Embry, Stanley Embry, Linda Joiner, Douglas Embry, Ronald Embry, and Emily Childress; 56 Grandchildren; 145 Great-Grandchildren; 13 Great -Great Grandchildren. Three sisters, Mary Davis, Louise Franklin, and Janet Squaire; one brother, Archie Lee Lafayette;
Rosie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Embry in 1976 after 30 years of Marriage, her parents Frank and Mary Lafayette, sisters, Luvina Coats, Willie Lee Coats, and Lily Bell Cleveland; brothers, Jowel Lafayette, Johnny Lafayette, Eddie Lafayette, and William Lafayette, Son, Perry Lee Embry; Great Grandson, Kenneth Frazier, Jr.
