Roxie Burton, Sr.

Roxie Burton Sr., affectionately known as “Rock” by family and friends, transitioned from earth on July 23, 2021 at St. Francis Nursing Facility at the age of 63 years. Rock was born November 2, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of John and Ruth (Gordon) Burton.

Roxie was a graduate of Saginaw High School’s Class of 1975. He served in the United States Army for almost eight years before returning home to his family. Roxie enjoyed cooking, entertaining his family and friends, and providing car detailing services for customers at Community Auto.

Roxie was preceded in death by one son, Dominique Burton; parents, John and Ruth Burton; sisters, Michael Ann Burton, Melva Jean Washington, Janice Pittman, Judy Burton and Yvonne Burton; one brother, John Burton. Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory six children, Unica Burton, Roxie Burton Jr., Isaivier Jackson, Torrian (Marshaun) Atkins, Antionette Burton, all of Saginaw, Michigan and Courtney Burton, Pinebluff, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, including special grandchild Kyron Burton; sisters, Myrtle, Debra, Runette, and brother, Troy, all of Saginaw, Michigan; aunts, Louvenia (Issac) Addison, Carson, California, Helen Mubara K’assad, Avendondale, Louisiana; uncle, Samuel (Mildred) Bennett, Greensville, Texas; many other loved ones and friends, including special friends Annie Roby, John Clark (old folks) and Billie Burton.
