Roy Edward Turner Jr.

October 4, 1930 — January 31, 2015

Mr. Roy Edward Turner Jr. gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the age of 84 years. He was born October 4, 1930 in Memphis, Tennessee to Eular M. Bailey and Roy E. Turner Sr.
Roy was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He accepted Christ at an early age. He completed high school and went on to college to pursue a degree in nursing. Roy served our country with the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He was an employee of General Motors Corporation, retiring after 30 years of faithful service. Roy was an avid sports fan who loved golf. He was a big fan of Tiger Woods, and would often refer to him as his son. Roy enjoyed reading and understanding the Bible. He loved to joke and have fun, and would give you a history lesson. Roy admired the Tuskegee Airmen and airplanes so much that he decided to complete an airborne course. He became a qualified Parachutist and Gliderman. Roy loved dogs and horses, but most of all he loved his family. His wonderful presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Deborah D. (Kevin) Crawford and Daphane A. (Greg) Butts, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Tammy (Carl) Cooper of Atlanta, Georgia; five sons, Rickey G. Staves of Dallas, Texas, Ronald A. (Barbara) Turner, Darold E. Turner, Harold S. Turner and Vincent W. (Royce) Turner, all of Saginaw, Michigan; the loving mother of his eight children, DeLois L. Turner of Saginaw, Michigan; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two stepsisters, Delores and Rodehlia Turner; two stepbrothers, Roland and Lynt Turner; many other relatives and friends including a very special, dear friend, Jewerl Jackson.
Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Eular Bailey, father, Roy E. Turner Sr., stepfather, Reverend Joseph Robinson, grandson, Travell Staves, daughter-in-law, Karen Staves, several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
