Mr. Roy Lee King passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 57 years. He was born in Osceola, Arkansas on July 2, 1961 to his parents, Ruth McCatrey and Edward King. He was the second oldest of 5 children.
Mr. King was a resident of Lansing, Michigan for 52 years. He attended Lansing Schools. Roy also attended Union Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed his morning walks to get coffee at Burger King and meeting new people. Roy loved being with his family. He was always joking with them.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Ruth McCatrey; three sisters, Sandra Taylor-Harris, Joan (Robert) Taylor-Clairborn and Tammy Taylor; five nieces, Shontia Robison, LaKisha Davis, Alisha Lemon, NaKeeta Harris and Carley Thomas; four nephews, Orlando Harris, Samuel Harris, Andrew Porter and Dominique Wade; aunt, Poverlene McCatrey; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Thomas, grandmother, Ruby Williams; aunts, Opherene Morris, Willie Murl Harden and Etoy Davis; uncles, Burthel McCatrey; Curtiss McCatrey and Roy Williams.
