Roy Whitson Sr.

Mr. Roy Whitson Sr. gained his eternal wings and entered the kingdom of Heaven on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the age of 73 years. He was born April 24, 1941 in Berry, Alabama to Susie and Nubert Whitson.
On October 27, 1980 Roy joined Earlene Taylor in holy matrimony. She survives him. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Vincent McMillon where he was a member of the choir. Roy enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with family and friends. Gone but never forgotten, his presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 33 years, Earlene Whitson; two daughters, Erica and Lakeeshia Taylor; two sons, Roy Whitson Jr. and Larry Taylor; grandchildren, Mario Williams, TaeVon and Treveon Taylor, Roy Whitson III, Aroyah Whitson, Sierra Whitson, Brina Currin, LaNasia Owens, Brian Currin and Antonio Whitson; one great-grandchild, Lauren Williams; three brothers, Franklin, Rubert and General Whitson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bell of Saginaw, Michigan, Annie (Henry) Kimbrough of Bassett, Arkansas, Barbara Harris of Detroit, Michigan and Elsie Harris; five brothers-in-law, Michael (Louise) Taylor of Saginaw, Michigan, LeRoy Taylor of Bassett, Arkansas, Earl (Alma) Taylor of Cebu, Phillipines, Carl Taylor of Chicago, Illinois and Alfred Taylor Buddy of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; many other relative and friends including special friends, Gus Tyler and Abbey Guzman.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Susie and Nubert Whitson, one brother, Nubert Whitson, two sisters, Earline Whitson and Christine Grayson, two brothers, James and William Whitson, one grand-daughter, Savanah, mother-in-law, Rosie Boyd.
