Royal Lee Pollard

November 24, 1951 — June 23, 2016

Royal Lee Pollard fought a good fight through a brief illness which came to an end on June 23, 2016 after he heard a low and personal whisper saying it was time to reach the highest mountain to meet and be with our Almighty Maker. He obeyed. Royal Lee Pollard was born November 24, 1951 in Minter City, Mississippi to Robert Pollard and Teva Holland-Dunlap.
Royal served our country faithfully in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War era. He was presented with various awards and medals for his bravery and honorable service.
Royal leaves to cherish his love and memories his wife, Tammy Pollard; mother, Teva Dunlap; twelve children, Royal L. (Teresa) Pollard, Tamara Pollard, Sharlene Agnew, Keon Jackson, Shatoris Jackson, Andre (Megan) Jones, Royal L. Pollard, Jr., Myra Pollard, Charlisia Pollard, Quran Blacksher, Darmarrion Patman, Tyrell Patman; three step-children, Diamond Pritchett, DaSharay Pritchett, and LaShawn White; sharing much joy and many memories of him, four sisters, Dorothy (Aaron) Hopkins, Jacksonville, Florida, Lynette Ruth, Saginaw, Michigan, Teva Brown, Flint, Michigan, Katina Thomas, Lexington, Kentucky; one brother, Dwight Pollard, Saginaw, Michigan; one aunt, Christean James of Chicago, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Pollard was preceded in death by his father, Robert Pollard; stepfathers, L. V. Thomas and Eugene Dunlap; four brothers, Robert Pollard Jr., J.W. Pollard, L. V. Pollard, and Elroy Thomas; uncles, aunts, cousins, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
