Ms. Ruby Jean “Boo” Vaughn departed this world on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 70 years. Ruby was born August 11, 1953, in Lima, Ohio to Cora Sykes and David Vaughn Sr.


Ruby was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw High School. Ruby’s employment includes a history of housekeeping and healthcare field until her health failed. She was a hard worker, dependable, family-oriented, the life of the party, and a woman of her word. Ruby loved to travel, dance, cook, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a great mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother who will truly be missed.


Ruby’s departure leaves many friends and loved ones to cherish loving memories. Surviving are her daughter, Natasha Vaughn Sacramento, California; son, Nathaniel Liggins Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan; loving grandchildren, Shanitra Brown, Tavario (Phylicia) Feagin, MiSharita Holt of Sacramento, California, D’Erica Smith, Saginaw, Michigan, and Jazmilyn Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan; nine great-grandchildren; goddaughters, Deanna Terry, Elena Macon, and Rebecca Hughes of Saginaw, Michigan; Ruby Jean also leaves her siblings, Alice Clemmons of Henderson, Nevada, Kathreen Ware, Michael (Lori) Vaughn, Saginaw, Michigan, Rena’ Vaughn, Bernard (Dora) Woods, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Celam Vaughn, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ruby leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and special friend, Pam Dottery.


Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Skyes Roach and David Vaughn Sr.; grandparents, Fanny and Jim Stinson; spouse, James "Jim" Mallak; daughter, Sharita Vaughn; granddaughter, MarKeisha Vaughn; grandson, Bryce Brown; stepfather, Glen Roach; sisters, Mary Porter, Judy Talley and Dorothy Johnson; brother, David Vaughn Jr.; aunts, Lonita Stinson, Elizabeth Johnson, Ruth Talley, and Alberta Hamilton; uncles, Jimmy, Red, Bill, and Donald Stinson; nieces, MaryAnn and Shirley Porter; nephews, Andrell Johnson, Booker T., Aaron, and Marvin Porter.


The family would like to express special thanks to family members, friends, Henry Ford, and Covenant staff who showed any acts of kindness during our time of bereavement.
