Ruby Vann Betancourt

Ms. Ruby Vann Betancourt passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her residence. Age 52 Years. She was born June 30, 1965 to Raul and Amelia Betancourt, Sr. in Saginaw, Michigan.

Ruby attended Saginaw and Bridgeport Public Schools graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1983. She later attended Delta College and was employed as a teacher’s assistant for CAC, better known as Saginaw ISD Headstart. Ruby was a member or St. Luke’s Temple where she gained the compassion to draw, read and write scriptures. God was her main interest. Ruby enjoyed hanging with her best friend, Domini Boggs, watching movies and listening to music. She especially loved to laugh and make others laugh. Ruby’s best character could be found in sporting her long red hair, soft cheeks, unique nose rings, shades, stylish dressing, and rocking jewelry. She was too cool, and sometimes goofy. Ruby will be truly missed by all those who loved her dearly.

Ruby leaves to cherish loving memories four daughters, Auesha Clemons, Detra Avenaye Clemons, Bree Lee Vonaye Vann, and Ruby Lee "Munchi" Vann; grandchild, Aperriy’a Betancourt-Hall and the two angels, Baby Nylah an Baby Boo, due upon arrival in February 2018; parents, Amelia Perez-Betancourt and Raul Betancourt, Sr.; four brothers, Rudolph “Geed” Betancourt, Raul “Jitter” Betancourt, Robert “Bobert” Betancourt, and Anthony Jones; two sisters, LaShirl Clemons and LaShawn Clemons, six nieces, Judi Betancourt, Bashley Betancourt, Alexis Betancourt, Kennedy Betancourt, LaToya West, Corina Betancourt; nine nephews, Anthony Betancourt, Angelo Betancourt, Ruben Betancourt, Rolando Betancourt, Robert Betancourt, Jr., Cooper Betancourt, Dominic Betancourt, Marcus Clemons, Anthony Clemons and Curtis Canty, Jr.; niece, LaJai Carter; three Aunts, Maria R. Gallagher, Maria Brown, Dora C. Casillas; eleven uncles, Jose Angel Betancourt, Jessie Betancourt, Ramon Betancourt, Jose Antonio Betancourt, Juan Betancourt, Tomas Betancourt, Sebastian Perez, Dioniso Perez, Raul Perez, Gregorio Perez, Armulfo Perez; many cousins including special cousins, Olivia Perez, Michelle Todd, Yvette Mays, Yvonne Howard, Cindy Wollenweber, Cathy Zuniga, Raymond Betancourt, Jr., and Anita Stevens; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Domini, Cloretha, Tiffany, Bridgette, Diana, Shantaria “Cu”, Shavonne “Spud”, Ursula, Tink, Gary, Chantel, LaShawn, LaShirl, Dewayne, Barbara, Shawn, Elizabeth, Demetria, Janice, and former spouse, Willie L. Vann.

Ruby was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martin and Rosaria Betancourt, Lionor and Genero Perez, and “Lil Chewy”, Jessie Betancourt.
