Samara Burrell

On Friday, October 24, 2014 Samara Jhamaine Burrell departed this earthly life at the age of 24 years. She was born June 24, 1990 in Saginaw, Michigan to Monique Burrell and Varney Burrell Jr.
Samara was a 2008 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. She attended Delta College while working as a facilitator with the Saginaw Public Schools until her health declined. Samara had been a long time member of First Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastors Fred and Jetta Smolchuck whom she adored. She enjoyed fellowshipping with the church family and working with Kids Tyme and the church nursery. Samara had a vibrant spirit and a humble heart. She enjoyed traveling and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. Samara also enjoyed shopping and styling herself for special occasions. She loved spending time with family and friends. Samara will be truly missed by her family and close friends.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her parents, Monique Burrell and Varney Burrell Jr.; grandmother, Hazel Irvin; one sister, Briana Burrell; one brother, Tavarion Burrell; four aunts, Bridget Hinds (Sam Fields Jr.), Deidre Burrell, Danielle Stewart and Anise Ankrah; one uncle, Reginald (Lydia) Riley of Abilene, Texas; a host of cousins and friends too numerous to name including her special friends, Tiara Holiday, Demetria Draine, Perry Jones and Kirsten Bond.
Samara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry Don Irvin and Martha Stewart; three aunts, Betty R. Ganter, Janice ODaniels and Veronica Burrell; one cousin, Shadana Bettis. The family would like to express special thanks to all the family and friends who made Samaras life meaningful and worthwhile, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel and the loved ones who were there during the difficult days as well as the good days. Our special thanks to you all.
