Mr. Sammy Lee Hines, formerly Austin, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born to Calvin Hines and Mary Lee Hines on August 22, 1952.
Sammy loved singing, especially oldie but goodie songs and fishing with his dad. Sammy had a wonderful sense of humor which was filled with jokes and laughter. He had a charisma and style that will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him. Sammy was a very hard and proud worker with a great heart.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda Hines, Manistee, Michigan; children, Demesha Hines, Desmond (Sara) Hines, Delores Hines, DeWayne Hines, Eric Hines, Tempestt Baker and Antonio Hines; grandchildren, Jasmine Hines, Jaylen Williams, Desiree Hines, Tobias Hines, Dominique Hines, Calven Hines, Zakiera Hines, Jordan Moten, Hailee Martinez-Hines, Xavier Moten, Desmond Hines Jr., Ayriana Hines, Makayla Martinez-Hines, Travis Martinez-Hines, Yonvah Baker and Bemarco Davis; one great-grandchild; 12 siblings, Willie Hines, Emmie (Tyrone) Powell, James Hines, Joyce Hines, Louis Hines, Shirley Ann Barker, Laurilla ( Samuel) Perkins, Geraldine Scott, Curtis Hines, Mary Ann (Leroy) Garner, Billy Ray (Marilyn) Hines and Micheal Davis; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count.
Mr. Hines was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Mary Lee Hines, two aunts, two uncles, one niece, Sareena Hines, one sister-in-law, Sadie Hines, and one brother-in-law, Micheal Barker.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Salvation Army Adult Center of Austin, Texas and Hospice. We sincerely appreciate the love and support everyone has shown.
