Mrs. Sandy Smith-Cade passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 28, 2017 at home in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 50 years. She was born May 8, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan to Shirley Smith.
Sandy was a girlie girl who was full of life. She found laughter and could joke about anything. Sandy loved to talk about her children. It did not matter the miles apart; her children (both biological and stepchildren) remained a topic of pride, joy and love. She also loved to talk about old times, and she loved to gossip. Sandy had a keen sense of her taste buds. She enjoyed baking cakes and she accepted almost every challenge in the kitchen. Her hobbies included music, dancing and collecting wigs and heels. Sandy is also known for being very accepting of others and she always welcomed everyone. Sandy cared for and loved deeply, her husband of 20+ years, Michael D. Cade, Sr.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband, Michael Derrick Cade, Sr.; four daughters and two sons, Sterling Michael Smith, Ariel Denise Smith (Tumise Doyen Alawode), Sara Vachelle Smith, Sian Mykelle Smith, Charity Smith, and Jamal Smith; five stepchildren, Francho Johnson, Sarah Cade, Valencia Cade, Michelle Cade, and Michael D. Cade, III; one granddaughter, Daija Lashawn Burgen; a host of step-grandchildren; mother, Shirley Smith; grandmother, Lucille Smith; two brothers, Luzion Smith, Sr., and Ivan Smith, Sr.; three aunts; Ermma Sanders, Gayle Warren, Luverne Warren; one uncle, Melvin Morris; two nieces, Tia and Jessica Smith; two grand-nieces, Clara Renee and Taylor; six nephews, Harold DeAngelo Kennedy-Smith, Deondrea Kennedy-Smith, Christopher Kennedy-Smith, Luzion Smith, La'Daero Smith and Ivan Smith; two grand-nephews, Darius and Jayden Smith; many cousins and a host of friends; special friend, Jerry Collier.
Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Kennedy.
