Ms. Sarah Ann McMiller passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Sarah was born October 1, 1921 in Glen Allen, Mississippi to Louis and Mary Warner.
Sarah accepted Christ at an early age. She moved to Chicago, Illinois in the late 1940s. During the 1950s she relocated to Los Angeles, California. In the mid 60s, she was joined by her sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and Robert Shaw and their three children, James, Ronnie and Ann. She worked in housekeeping for over 60 years. Sarah moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 2009 where she resided with her niece Diann Barnett. Sarah was a feisty woman with a fiery spirit. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister and brother, Gloria Jean Finch and Emmette (Carolyn) Johnson, both of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother-in-law, John McCullum, Leland, Mississippi; a host of nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephews, Shirley Griffin, Ronnie and James Warner, Jerry and Brian Woo; special great-great nieces and nephews, DeAsia Jeffries, Germanie King, JaiOhn Wilson, Deonte Jeffries, Jackie King and Damien Youngblood; many other relatives and friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by eight sisters, Bertha Warner, Amanda Addison, Willie Mae Brown, Louise McCullum, Letha English, Azailean Barnes, Annette Dean and Lillie Mae Shaw, four brothers, James, Leroy, Joseph and Frank Warner.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Rakesh Chokshi, St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center, Nicole and Kathy of the Saginaw Commission on Aging. To her very special nephew Ronnie Warner, we thank you from bottom of our hearts.
