November 29, 1943 — January 9, 2014

Mrs. Sarah Lavern Campbell went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 70 years. She was born November 29, 1943 in Montgomery, Alabama to John Wesley and Fannie Mae Bruce.
Sarah was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1962 graduate of Saginaw High School. Sarah attended Tri-City SER and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. She was employed as a Medical Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant for many years before retirement. On March 27, 1965 Sarah joined McArthur Campbell in holy matrimony. He preceded her in death. Sarah enjoyed shopping, reading, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She was a loving, caring person who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory one daughter, Anesa Jean Campbell; two sons, Michael Edward Campbell and Derrick John (Maria) Campbell; two stepchildren, Marilyn (Ricky) Jackson of Helena, Arkansas and Vera Campbell of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Derrius M. Campbell, ShaMea M. Campbell and Derrick J. Campbell, all of Saginaw, Michigan, MyKayla A. Campbell and Aaron M. Campbell, both of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Brandon D. Wooten of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Cynthia Taylor and Helen Doss; one brother, Karl W. (Patricia) Bruce; fourteen nieces including her special nieces, Sonja William, Felesia Harrel, Donna Boozer and Britany Harrel; fourteen nephews; one aunt, Mrs. Emma Bailey of Detroit, Michigan; three special cousins, Mrs. Annye Roberts of Saginaw, Michigan, Mrs. Martha H. Lee of Vallejo, California and Mrs. Odessa Caver of Saginaw, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Verlyn Campbell of Cordova, Tennessee, Frankie White and Odessa ONeal, both of Mansfield, Ohio; her god-children, Alexis Lacy of Nashville, Tennessee , Annette Robinson, James Perkins, Dante and Tamara Humes, all of Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including her special friends, Nancy Williams, Sara and Thomas Huell, Gloria J. Burns, Sheila King, Eva Pearl King, Faye Hardwick, Pat Hill, Shirley Murry and Fran Bruce.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Bruce, husband, McArthur Campbell, four brothers-in-law, Arthur and Johnny Campbell, Harold Doss and Edmond Taylor Jr., two sisters-in-law, Mattie Mae Campbell and Emma Campbell, godmother, Annie Kelly.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staffs of Covenant Healthcare-Harrison 7th floor and 6th floor ICU units, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
