Mrs. Sarah Wilkins passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. She was born May 13, 1950 to James and Bennie Mae Howell in Caldwell, Georgia.
Sarah and her family moved to Lansing, Michigan while she was young. She graduated from J. W. Sexton High School. Sarah believed in education and obtained her associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree from Lansing Community College. She was employed as a school bus driver and as a Corrections Officer for the Michigan Department of Corrections. Her hobbies were watching old western movies; she loved working in her garden and yard, however what she loved most was to help people. Sarah most cherished treasures were her family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her 2 sons, Kenneth Griffin and Justine Verser; stepson, Rudolph V. “Tino” Griffin, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, Alexis Woodard, Kamiron Hill, Las Vegas, Nevada, Kariesse Griffin, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Ja’Kari Griffin; several great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Pastor Iris Cotton, Leslie Howell and Annie Wallace, Cleveland, Ohio; 3 brothers, James L. Howell, Willie J. Howell and Jimmie Howell; 1 niece and several nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jasper Howell and niece, Teresa Keyton.
