It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Savonn Karee Lilly who left us JULY 5, 2024. Savonn born November 11, 1975 in Lansing, MI, to Bobby Jean Lilly & Curtis Lee King, a beloved son, father, and friend. A passionate old school car enthusiast, and devoted blues lover. Savonn’s love for old school cars was legendary. If you needed speakers installed in your ride Savonn was your man…. Music was another integral part of Savonn's life. The soulful strains of blues music resonated deeply within him, providing a soundtrack to his journey. From Marvin Sease to Bishop Bullwinkle, the blues spoke to his soul, offering solace in times of sorrow and amplifying his joy in moments of happiness.
As a father, Savonn was a guiding light and a source of boundless love. His children, who were the pride and joy of his life, will forever remember his infectious smile, and his warm hugs. Savonn faced life's challenges with a strength that inspired all who knew him. After the heart-wrenching loss of his love Sonya Hall, and almost loss of a child he struggled to find hope but never gave up. He held on, striving to recover and provide a loving home for his children. His journey was one of courage and unwavering dedication to his family.
Also known best for his sharp wit and playful banter, Savonn had a unique gift for making people laugh. He had a knack for "talking stuff" in the most endearing way, bringing humor and lightness to every conversation.
Savonn Lilly’s legacy is one of love and laughter. He touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we hold on to the memories and the impact he had on our lives. His spirit will live on in the laughter of his children, the hum of an engine, and the soulful notes of a blues melody.
Survived by his children Savonn Jr., Shyanna, Shaine, and Shaun Lilly; 3 grandchildren; mother, Bobby Jean Lilly; siblings, Bernard, Sharonna, Latoya, Shonda Wiggins, Antwan, Roshawnda, James, and Mercedes; mother-in-law, Ida Hall; fiancée Patricia Jones; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis King and paternal and maternal grandparents and love, Sonya Hall.
Rest in peace, Savonn. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
