Scharmelle Monique Branklin (Lansing)

Scharmelle Monique Branklin passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 53 years. She was born to parents, Joanne and Roy Branklin, on August 13, 1970, in Lansing, Michigan.

Scharmelle was raised in Lansing, Michigan, where everyone knew her for her beauty, inside and out. She had a big heart and kept others smiling no matter what she was going through herself.

After graduating from Everett High School, Scharmelle went to work in the medical field for several years. Most recently, she worked as a seamstress at Peckham Incorporated; Scharmelle loved the work she did and the people around her.

As a member of Walk in Truth Ministries, Scharmelle attended services with her sisters – growing closer to them and to God.

Scharmelle leaves to cherish her memory her children, Chyna Branklin of Lansing, Michigan, Derrick Jones, and Indiya Jones, both of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Faith, Lucas, and Noelle Prowell of Nashville, Tennessee, and Asad Payne of Lansing, Michigan; sisters, Toia Branklin, Lisa Tucker, and Dana Scott; brothers, Roy Branklin, Thomas Branklin, Al Ansley, Ernest Woods, and Tyrone Bonds; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joanne and Roy Branklin; brother, Paul Summerville, nephew, Marcus Basey, and granddaughters, Jae’Lynn, Journey, and Adara Payne.

The family would like to express special thanks to everyone far and near who has supported us during this tough time.
