Mr. Sean Kenny passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at McLaren Greater Lansing at the age of 56 years. He was born on May 23, 1965, in Lansing, Michigan to Earl and Annie Kenny.
Sean was a life-long resident of Lansing, Michigan, where he attended Lansing School District schools and graduated from Lansing Everett High School. Sean gave his life to God at an early age and carried that faith to the day of his passing. His first job was at Shop Rite Supermarket in South Lansing, where he started out as a bagboy and worked his way up to be one of the youngest butchers Shop Rite had. Sean later transferred to the meat department at Terranova’s Grocery Store. With his great work ethics, he worked several different jobs and several positions before retiring from Great Giant Supermarket. He enjoyed his life as a grocer and gained many lifetime friendships.
Sean had a beautiful smile and charming personality. He had a great love for nature, loved animals, and fishing. Sean was great at tinkering with his hands. He was a wonderful cook and loved grilling and trying new recipes.
Sean thoroughly enjoyed dancing, singing, music, and watching movies. He loved sports and was an avid bowler. Sean was a huge fan of the Michigan State University Spartans. He will be remembered most for the love he had for his family. He loved his mother dearly and he was a devoted father.
He was preceded in his homegoing by his father; Earl Kenny; brother; Dywane Kenny; sister; Shirley Cheeks; nephews, Raymond Kenny Jr., and Westley Cheeks, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Annie Bell Kenny of Lansing, Michigan; five loving children, daughters, Janessa Kenny and Kiara Denman, both of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; sons, Austin Chandler of Harrison, Michigan, Quinten (Joce’lyn Fleming) Kenny and Trenton Kenny, all of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; grandson, Aadonis Shananaquet; two sisters, Darlene Kenny of Lansing, Michigan and Bobby “Barb” Greene of Vancouver, Washington; two brothers, Raymond (Denise) Kenny of East Moline, Illinois, and Timothy (Tammy) Kenny of Jacksonville, Florida; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including special friends, Cristie Sill and Christi Denman.
Sean, you will be forever loved and missed!
