Shalae Heady (Lansing)

Ms. Shalae LaShae Heady  transitioned to be with the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, December 17,2023, at the age of 36 years old, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on Thursday, December 18,1986, to Don Heady and Tina Mathews.

Shalae attended schools in the Lansing School District and received her GED from Detroit Job Corps Center. After receiving her acknowledgement of accomplishment, she worked various jobs in Lansing, Michigan before moving to Tampa, Florida. In Tampa, Shalae assisted customers with web advertisements and worked in customer service. After several years in Tampa, she returned to Lansing, Michigan to care for her great grandmother. Shalae’s love for her family was truly unmatched as words of endearment and an abundance of phone calls were expressed daily.

Shalae held a true passion for fashion and food. As many of you witnessed, each outfit was coordinated with matching hair and accessories. Her love for food almost outweighed the love she held for her family. Shalae always searched for new recipes and executed each recipe with her own twist. As her family and food critics, we enjoyed embarking on her adventurous food journey. Recently, Shalae was accepted to Auguste Escoffer School of Culinary Arts where she planned to master her craft. May her journey continue in Heaven.

Shalae leaves to cherish her love and memories, her mother, Tina (Gilbert) Mathews; father, Don (Alice) Heady; grandparents, Stephen and Claudia Ward; sisters, Starice (Willie) Houston, Mercedes Hardiman, and Alicea Heady; brothers, Eaness Ahmad, and Dondre Heady; nephews and nieces, JeJean Davis, Naviell Blue, Deondre and Lailah Bonner, Dondryce and Damoni Heady, and J’Ceon Nevils; great niece, Jaraiyah Davis; many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved her tremendously; other relatives and friends including best friend, Georjetta Williams and special friend, Shanequa Booker.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mildred Jackson; grandfathers, Bennie Johnson and Nathaniel Heady; great-grandmother, Willa Williams; uncles, Robert and Lonnie Woods; cousin, Lonnie Woods Jr; and nephew, Navier Myles.
