Shamar Green (Lansing)

Mr. Shamar Green passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 46 years. He was born April 15, 1972 in Flint, Michigan to parents, Purell Jacob Green II and Carolyn Denise (Hicks) Green.

Shamar was raised in Flint, graduating from Flint Central Community High School. He eventually moved to Lansing, Michigan. Shamar received an Associate Degree from Lansing Community College. He worshiped at Mount Hope Church in Lansing frequently. Shamar worked for the State of Michigan, Department of Human Services, where he took great pride in his work ethic. His interests included watching football and basketball games especially games from the 1970s and 1980s; old movies, comedies, horror flicks, jazz and of course, he loved to eat. The greatest love was reserved for his wife Nicki and his children, William and Rhonda. Shamar was a gentle giant, most referred to him as a Big Teddy Bear!

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Nicolle Johnson-Green; son, William Ky Green; daughter, Rhonda Elizabeth Green; two brothers, Byron Green and Chad Green; several uncles including special uncle, Charles Woods; many cousins including special cousins, Octavio (Angie) Williams and Lon Stapleton; parents-in-law, Reverend Samuel Johnson, Sr. and Deaconess Terry Johnson; brother-in-law, Samuel Johnson, II; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Jerrell Nixon and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
