Shanae Nelson Bailey passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Rochester, New York. Age 21 years. Shanae was born April 16, 2001, in Saginaw, Michigan to Brenda Bailey and Allen Banks.


Shanae attended Learn to Earn. She had a great spirt, she had faith in God, and she enjoyed life to the fullest. She was beautiful and had a big heart. She loved her kids no matter what. She walked the neighborhood like she owned it. She was not afraid of anything. Shanae loved to dance and enjoyed being around her aunts and cousins. She was funny, smart, silly, she loved music and was always smiling. Shanae had a smile that brightened the room. She had her own style of dress. Shanae was a fun-loving young lady who was loved by many people. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her favorite word was ‘Bama-Lam!


Shanae leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and two sons, Aden Levon Bailey, Amir Bailey, and Kayden Kingston Martin; mother, Brenda Bailey; stepfather, Bobby Meredith; grandmother, Levon Bailey who raised her; sisters, Briana Bailey, Michelleo Franklin, Brenda Franklin, Sharee Bailey, and Mary Jordan; two brothers, Daquavis Collins, and Shavonte Nelson; one nieces, Daquaviona Rose Collins; three nephews, Deontae Corvon Hayes, Carmello De’Andre Powell, and Kendrick Austin Collins; eleven aunts, Debra (Frank) Pickett, Loretta (David) Coates, Kashanda (Lee) Bailey, Stephanie Bailey, Alisha Perkins, Mary Coleman, Willie Mae (Roy) Coleman, Alice Arrington, Catherine McCall, Sharon Perkins, and Geradine Coleman; one uncle, John Perkins; twenty-one cousins, Darnisha, Salathiel, Ant’tanicka, Leiara, Shanique, Tiana, Davisha, Jarianna, Ladell, Sher’Montae, Sher’Miracle, DeQuavis, Le’Andre, Lee III, Shermein, Dominesha, Don, Dontrell, Dontaviana, My‘Angel, and Sha’larrya; a host of other cousins and friends including her special friends, Lucky who was by her side and supported her the best way he could you are very appreciated Bruce Russ. Thank you.


Shanae was preceded in death by her daughter Dakota Bailey; brother Bobby Bailey; father, Allen Banks; grandparents, Nathaniel and Willie Mae Perkins, and David Bailey; one cousin Mar’Quavious Collins; two uncles, Robert Lee, and Samuel Perkins.
