Shane Anthony Peoples-Welch, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Holland Hospital in Holland, Michigan. Age 21 years. He was born June 17, 1990 in Saginaw, Michigan to RuShawnda Peoples and Garland Welch. Shane was truly a leader. He was a young man who loved God whole heartedly, and a young man with visions and goals.
Shane was a member of New Covenant Christian Center Church. His interests included but were not limited to: helping others, playing basketball, reading, face booking, twittering and texting. Shane had an enormous personality which displayed humor, leadership, integrity, charisma, and a special love for his family and friends. He graduated from Saginaw High School at the top 10 in his class. While at Saginaw High School, Shane was a part of the Honors Society, founder of Minority Investors in Business and a member of B.L.A.C.K. (BLACK Leaders Aspiring for Critical Knowledge). Shane furthered his education by attending Grand Valley State University.
His memory will be forever cherished by his mother, RuShawnda (Devron) McCall, father, Garland (Tanya) Welch; four brothers, Devron McCall Jr., Garland Welch Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, D-Aires Cotton; seven sisters, Destiny McCall, Brittany Burt, Destany Sampson, TeAiris and TKeyah Harris, Jayla Rogers, TOnnnie Welch; one nephew, Julian (JJ); grandparents, Lynette (Sam) Harrold, Reverend Ecerely (Evelyn) Miller, Robert (Jaime) McCall, Steve (Shirley) Barker, Cora Welch; one God-son, Chae Jr.; aunts and uncles, Chae (Christina) Riley, Corey (Amanda) Prichett, Tamico Martin, Earl (Tasha) Moore, Tamera Ellis, Ecerla and LaShawndra Miller, Tongua Welch, Nakella Williams, Shawn Williams, Reginald Hilton; many other relatives and friends including special cousins, Stephanie and Vince Bond; also special friends, Dwaynna Dawson, Onious Hargrove, Derrick Allen, Dave Ore, and special aunts and uncles, Andrea (George) Beard, Vincent (Kimberly) Bond;.
Shane was preceded in death by L.C. Peoples (Catherine), Ovella Bond, Rudolph Dugan, Terry Peoples, Bernadine Essex, Valerie Williams, Sandra (Peachy) Thompson, Steve Coffie, and Anthony Bardell.
