Mr. Shannon Barnett was born March 14, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to Eleanor Barnett-Dillard and Leon Welch. He passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Spectrum Health Rehab in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Age 54 years.
Shannon, known as “Big Boe”, worked many jobs, from detailing cars to carpentry to house renovating. He studied for two years at Grand Rapids Community College and then put what he learned into action.
Big Boe liked fishing, exercising, and really enjoyed riding his bicycle. He would ride anywhere and everywhere. He loved to cook and have family gatherings. Being around his family brought him immense joy. He had a heart of gold and was selfless and would do anything to help anyone if he could. He will be missed beyond measure.
Shannon was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Barnett Wilson and son, Damon Barnett.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Ovondre Thoms, Jevon Jelks; grandchildren, Ovondre Derrell Thomas, Jr., Grace Lynn Jelks, Kaliah Elise Thomas; grandmother, Robbie Overstreet; sisters, Aidjia Dillard, Lateefah Dillard, Earlynn Harris, Shnecia Dillard-Harris, Isha Dillard, Fateema Dillard; brothers, Leantwon Dillard, Randolph Dillard, Marcus Barnett, Jammal Dillard, Rachminn Dillard, Chi-Kinn Dillard, Omarr Dillard, Randolph Perry; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Chuckie Lawrence, Bam and Leon.
