Sharon Jones (Lansing)

Mrs. Sharon Jones passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Dimondale Nursing Care Center in Dimondale, Michigan. Age 79 years. She was born March 19, 1940 in Mishawaka, Indiana the daughter of Lucille Colclesser Olds.

Sharon lived in the Lansing area for many years. She met her husband, Lowell while square dancing, so they decided to dance their way through life together. They became parents to their daughter, Mary Jean, who says, “She (Mom) saved his life and he was the love her life!” Sharon’s family was the most important thing in her life. Her family was her heart and she was always there for them!! Sharon was a person who gave from her heart. She was always willing to help other people. For many years, Sharon provided day care for many children. She was known as the Grandmother of the block who was always baking cookies. She was a long-time member of Olivet Baptist Church and could be depended on to help anywhere she could especially with baking and cooking. One other thing she enjoyed in life was to travel.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Lowell; daughter Mary Jean; stepchildren, Robert (Barbara) Jones, Linda (Reverend Ralph) Syers and Bruce (Amy) Jones; 20 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 12 sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patty.
