A Heavenly Matriarch That Blessed Her Whole Family
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Sharon Ann Thompson was born May 26, 1946, to the late John Curtis Redice and Hallie Lee Allen in Detroit, Michigan. Sharon was the second oldest of six children and she attended Detroit Public Schools and Delta College located in Saginaw, Michigan. Sharon Ann was truly fascinated with education, and she taught her Children, Grandchildren, Nephews, and Nieces that “Knowledge is Power”. “Mother didn’t play around when it came to school”.
As a Gorgeous and Vibrant young woman (BEAUTY PAGEANT WINNER), Sharon Ann tested the waters and tried out for Motown Records, according to Uncle Beanie. Back in those days, she socialized with many of the Great Motown Legends such the Marvin Gaye and the Temptations.
Mr. Charles A. Thompson (deceased) and Sharon Ann joined one another in Holy Matrimony (Husband & Wife as it should be Commanded by Christ Jesus). Those Lovebirds left Detroit and set up shop in Saginaw. That union produced their only child Mrs. Tamiko “Tammy” (Thompson)-Shelton. Sharon Ann’s other children included Jo Ann Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Roy L. Thompson, and Gavin Thompson.
Sharon Ann paved the way for her Children & Grandchildren by laying a strong foundation and having Faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mother’s determination and relentless love encouraged Us and our Children to join the Military… United States Army, United States Marines, and the United States Navy. Quite a few of her Children and Grandchildren sought higher education and obtained Bachelor’s Degrees, Master’s Degrees, and On the Job Certifications. Mother taught us to be Pillars in the Community and Lead by Example.
THANK YOU, MOTHER IT’S A BLESSING KNOWING THAT WE ALL MADE YOU PROUD.
Sharon Ann shared a very special relationship with her Brothers Uncle Aubrey (deceased), Uncle Beanie (Woodson), Aunt Betty (Jean), Aunt Judy. She seriously made it her prerogative to spend time with each of her Siblings before she was called home to be with Jesus Christ. Uncle Aubrey would shout “What Is It Now Fatts”. That was his special way of letting his Little Sister know that he Loved Her. Uncle Beanie cherished his Big Sister Sharon Ann because he knew that she could soar with the Eagles and Hoo with Owls. Understand me when I say Mother took care of him, Aunt Judy and Aunt Gail. They were her true babies before any of us was a thought. Sharron Ann, Aunt Jean, and Aunt Judy enjoyed going to the Casino and just living life in general with one another. Mama, Aunt Jean, and Aunt Judy thank you for being the Wonderful Role Models to the Women in our Family. Mother shared a special Sisterhood with Vivian, Al, Debra and Cin. The present and future Matriarchs of our Family Truly Admired the ground each of you walk on. THANK YOU!
Sharron Ann Thompson… you can Rest In Heaven now because we’re going to Love and Respect One Another As Your Final Wish Mother.
Sharon Ann was preceded in death by her Siblings, Aubrey Sangster, Gail Allen, and Craig Allen.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory five Children: Tamiko & (Maurice) Thompson-Shelton, Jo Ann Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Roy & (Josephine) Thompson, and Gavin Thompson. One Brother, Woodson D. Allen Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Three Sisters, Betty (Jean) Weatherspoon of Detroit, Michigan, Judy Niblett of Detroit, Michigan, and Linda Anderson of Detroit, Michigan.
Our Heavenly Matriarch, you will be Greatly Missed by your Grandbabies: Julian, Cortney & (Marvin), Cynthia & (Gabriel), Ivory, Roy Jr, Immanuel, Dominqua & (Patrick), Sydney, Timothy, Derius, Jaylen, and those Precious Great Grandbabies… ESPECIALLY JORDAN KNOWN AS BABY “BOO-AHH”.
