Ms. Sheila Freeman was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Marie E. Rashada and Elijah Thomas, Sr. Sheila was a member of the Islamic Center of Saginaw. She was born and raised in Saginaw, MI. Sheila was involved with visiting nurses. She loved helping people out, cooking, writing and being involved with other activities. Sheila was also a graduate of Adult High School in 1983. Every day you saw her she was filled with joy and filled with knowledge.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Aliah Freeman of Saginaw, MI; stepchildren: Selena, Jerry Jr. and Dwayne Harvey all of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren: Jasmine and Jason Nash, Jr. both of Grand Rapids, MI; mother, Marie E. Rashada; step parent: Abdur Rahim Rashada; sisters: Brenda Irving, Killen, TX, Bridget Thomas, Fathiyyah Rashada, Saginaw, MI and Hafeza Hester, Romulus, MI; brothers: Elijah Thomas, Jr., Samuel Thomas, Grand Rapids, MI, Craig Thomas, Shamitar, FL; a host of nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins; sisters-in-law: Malissa Henry, Grand Rapids, MI and Linda Freeman, Saginaw, MI; brothers-in-law: Charlie Freeman, Joe Freeman, James Freeman all of Detroit, MI and David Freeman, Saginaw, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Willie Turner, Gwendolyn Green, Keith Bailey, Ruffus Thomas, Jr., Cornell Howard and one special cousin, Gladys Allen. Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Thomas, Sr., brother David Thomas and husband Jerry Freeman. The family would like to express special thanks to Saint Marys Hospital.
