Ms. Shelly Gene Warren was born May 7, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to Mabel Ineze Warren. God called her home to be with Him on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
Shelly was a long-term resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1967.” She was employed by the Saginaw VA Hospital and worked there until her retirement.
Shelly was a straight-forward, no nonsense woman. You didn’t have to wonder what she was thinking because she told you. She was caring and loved her family and friends. She truly loved her only son Marcel and adored her grankids. She enjoyed watching tv and being in the comfort of her home. She was a person that paid attention and was always able to tell you what was going on in the neighborhood.
To know Shelly was to know that she was a woman of God. She was a woman of faith and one that not only read the Word of God but lived the Word of God. You could visit her anytime and you’d find her reading the bible. And because of her love for God, we have not lost her because we know exactly where she is. Mom is resting safely in her Savior’s arms.
Shelly was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Ineze Warren and sister, Juanita Timberlake.
She leaves to celebrate her life her only son, Marcel Choyce; grandchildren, Michael (Paige) Speakman, Dimitri Choyce Santoro; great-grandchildren, Braylen Speakman, Harper Jade Speakman’ sister, Yommia Warren; brother, Carl (Andrea) Warren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Eugene Evans, Jr., Lavorn Smith and Debra Brown.
The family would like to express special thanks to the nursing staff at Covenant Cooper 5-East, especially Claire, and Becky Cesarz for her care of Shelly’s dog, Brandy.
