Shelton Allen (Lansing)

Mr. Shelton Leonard Allen passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 58 years. He was born December 9, 1963, in Sheridan, Mississippi, to mother, Mandie Brandon.

Shelton had an entrepreneur spirit; he was always working toward goals he had set for himself.

He was known as a giver. Shelton often gave gifts of art, clothes, and shoes to those around him.

Shelton enjoyed playing dominos. He collected African art and once owned an African art store here in Lansing, Michigan.

He was very proud of the fact that he converted to Islam.

Shelton leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Izealia Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sheila Jones of Lansing, Michigan; stepchildren, Somenna Barber, Seiko Hall, and Si’aynah Barber of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Nayquan, Vason, RayElle, and Zay; sisters, Johnnie Mae Hall, Jaqueline Allen, Lavida Allen, Sonya Allen, Sophia Allen, Mabel Allen, and Vallie Mae Allen; brothers, George Allen and Otis Allen; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mandie Brandon; stepfather, Oral Brandon; grandmother, Mary Ware; grandfather, Eugene Allen; sister, Karen Allen; and nephews, Brandon Williams, Charles Allen, and Troy Macklin.
