Sherry Jackson

July 31, 1956 — November 30, 2022

Ms. Sherry Jackson passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Michigan Medicine (the University of Michigan) Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age 66 years. She was born July 31, 1956, to Viola (Harris) and Tommie Thompson.


Sherry resided in Saginaw, Michigan where she attended World Outreach Campus Church under the leadership of Pastor Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. She retired from General Motors, and was self-employed with her own business as a daycare provider for over 16 years. Ms. Jackson loved children, shopping, spending time with her family, and she loved the Lord. Sherry was an awesome mother and someone you could count on. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.


She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Yvette Thompson and Heather (Demarreo) Jeffries; five sons, Tirrey and, Brian Thompson, Terrance, and Jonathan Johnson, and Kahlil Jackson; five stepchildren, Shawn Bass, Brandy Nash, Wesley Nash, Airyona Brewer, and Darshay Ladd; grandchildren, Jermaine Smith Jr., Makaela Thompson, Tirrey Thompson Jr., Autavion Thompson, Sarah Varney, Terrance Thompson Jr., Jonathan II, Jonathan III, Neeko, Chance, and Chyna Nelson; three siblings, Dorothy (Davis) Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan, Walter (Minnie) Thompson, Texas, and Willie Charles Thompson; special nieces, Bobbie Ward, and Michelle Fisher; special nephew, Derek Phoenix; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Tammy Nash, Diane Burns, Wesley Thomas, Katie Ladd, Jerome Ralph, Ellis Williams “Sput,” Vanessa McQueen, and Cathy Wilson.


Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Jackson; sisters, Annie Mae Thompson, Emma Thompson, Gloria Jean Thompson, and Joyce General; brothers, Tommy Thompson Jr., and Milton Thompson; grandson, Antonio Davis, granddaughter, Chynna Thompson; nieces, Barbara Hart, and Felisha Phoenix; nephews, Torrey Lockett A/K/A “Moto,” Billy Thompson; and great-nephew, Michael Williams.


The family would like to express special thanks to the University of Michigan Hospital Cardiovascular Team, and Fresenius Dialysis special tech, Jordan.
