August 15, 1958 — September 28, 2024

Mrs. Shirley Borney passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan, at 66 years of age. She was born on Friday, August 15, 1958, to parents Arthur Lee Knights and Florence A. Stewart in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Shirley graduated from Everett High School. She was well known there and throughout Lansing during her lifetime and held many different jobs during her lifetime. She loved listening to music and dancing. One of her favorite artists was Barry White, especially his song, “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love”. She danced to it every time she heard it playing. Manuel, Damari Lyons, Cleo Goldman, Jaree Goldman, Devon Goldman, Nyki Goldman, Deju Cedeno, Ciara Cedeno, Tahira Lyons and great-grandchild, Cleo Goldman Jr.; fiancé, Ron Nesbitt; siblings, Jerry (Joe) Lyons of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Victor Lyons of Lansing, Michigan, Linda Walls, Connie Kelly and Devonia Hudson, all of Lansing, Michigan; thirty nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gwendolyn Lyons and Annie Pearl Stewart; and brother, Curtis Lyons.
