Shirley Demery

January 30, 1949 — June 3, 2012

Shirley Demery our beloved mother, sister and aunt went on to be with the Lord Sunday, June 3, 2012 at University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age 63 years. Shirley was born January 31, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to Richard Sr. and Lenora Lewis.
Shirley was formerly employed by Saginaw Mental Health Department. She was a member of Refreshing Life Ministries under the leadership of her cousin Edward Jones. She was a remarkable woman and a true servant that enjoyed bringing smiles and laughter to other's regardless of the way she felt. She raised her three son's teaching them to do all things so they won't need or desire a woman for nothing but her love. She was a tom-boy at heart in her earlier years but didn't like worms, LOL. She enjoyed racing cars, fishing, photography, restoration of furniture, interior decorating and also proving that a woman can do all things. She loved her family with infinite love and despised the phrase "I can't do it". She was not only the mother of three sons but was deemed the neighborhood mother to all that sought motherly love. She fought hard for herself but even harder for others. Her faith and dedication to God has been proven time and time again that Love conqers all things.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Lloyd, Jarvis and Quincy Demery; three grandchildren, Sania, Lloyd and Chelsey Demery; one sister, Betty (George) Harris; two brothers, Troy Lewis, Earl Burns; one sister-in-law, Joyce Lewis all of Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Sr. and Lenora Lewis; four brothers, Robert Folkes, Richard Lewis Jr., Norris Lewis and Roy Lewis.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Refreshing Life Ministries.
