Shirley Jean Porter

Ms. Shirley Porter passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 70. She was born to the union of Mr. Booker T. Porter and Mary Fletcher Porter on January 16, 1953, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Shirley was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She retired from Tendercare Nursing Home, was a hard worker, and was always reliable. Shirley’s sense of humor, courageous laugh, and her concern for others will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Alisha Porter; one son, Darius Porter, both of Lima, Ohio; five grandsons, Marvin Jr and Darius Porter, both of Auburn Hills, Michigan, Morgan Porter of Saginaw, Michigan, Antre Porter and Darius Ellis Jr. of Lima, Ohio; three granddaughters, Alisha N. Porter of Saginaw, Michigan, Andrea Porter and Leah Ellis, both of Lima, Ohio; a host of great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins; one special friend, JoJo Clark.

Shirley was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin Sr. and Aaron Porter; her parents, Booker T. and Mary Porter; one sister, Mary Ann Porter; one brother, Booker T. Porter Jr; grandmother, Cora Roach, and her great-grandmother, Fannie Stinson.
