Ms. Shirley Mae Lundy-Griffin passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 74 years. Shirley Mae was born on November 14, 1947, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to JC and Alma Lundy.

Shirley had a smile that would light up a room. She and Gary Wayne Griffin were united in marriage and relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1968, remaining married until his death in May of 2019.

Shirley was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she actively served with the choir. She was an excellent cook, loved to travel with her family, especially to family reunions every year. Shirley retired from the Saginaw Intermediate School District (SISD) in 2011. She loved her job, but especially loved the children. Shirley will be greatly missed.

Loving memories remain with her two daughters, Jeanette Fisher, and Ericka Taran Griffin; one son, Christopher James Griffin; one stepdaughter, LaShon (Cornelius) McCormick; four grandchildren, Sharnae Griffin, Milan McCormick, Damien D. Youngblood, and Jalen C. Fisher; one great-grandchild, Journee Taran Howell; one sister, Evangelist Ellanan Lundy; one brother, Jerome Lundy; a host of nieces and nephews; special aunt, Gloria Jean Finch; very special cousin, Diann Barnett; nine sisters-in-law including very special sister-in-law, Betty King; five brothers-in-law; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Gary Wayne Griffin, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Gary W. Griffin Jr; parents, JC Lundy and Alma Lundy; sister, Renetta Lundy, Marie Steele, and Mary Wright.
