Shirley Ann Riley of Carrollton, MI departed this life on February 5, 2010 after a brief illness. Shirley, age 65, was born on January 25, 1945 in Sallis, MS to Oliver Green Roby (deceased) and Myrtle McClaurin Roby (deceased). She graduated from Sallis High School and moved to Saginaw, MI, where she married Hubert Lee Riley (deceased).
Shirley will be remembered most for her generosity, reputation as a peace maker, and her passion for music and gardening. Shirleys love of flowers prompted her to give some kind of plant to everyone she met, or take one from every where she had been. Her generosity extended beyond family and friends, as she bestowed gifts to those she didnt even know or had just met. A lifetime of love and a day of mirth, a rose has been plucked, after beautifying the life of others on this earth. Helping others was her joy in life. May her generosity of giving and her character as a peace maker keep our memory of her alive in our hearts forever.
She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Lorenza Riley (Saginaw, MI), Glenda Oliver (Killeen, TX), Doretha Riley (Piscataway, NJ), Hubert Lee Jr. Riley and David Riley of Carrollton, MI, and Vallerie (Payton) Porter (Georgetown, TX); eight grandchildren, Diondrae Riley (Pasadena, MD), Ronald Paul Oliver III (Carrollton, MI), Valencia Porter and Veronica Porter of Georgetown, TX, Mark Berry, Unique Price, Jade Riley, and Justice Riley of Del City, OK; four great-grand children, Diondrae Riley Jr. and Jocilynn Riley of White Bluff, TN and Alana Young and Devon Riley of (Pasadena, MD); three brothers, Claude (Rachel) Roby (Saginaw, MI), McArthur Roby and W.D.
