Simon Carter, Iii (Lansing)

Simon Carter III was born January 14, 1953 in Detroit, MI the second child of the union of Simon Jr. and Dolores Carter.

Simon was educated in the Detroit Public School system attending Makenzie High School where he was an All City football player. Graduated from Western Michigan University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree and also from Central Michigan University with a Master of Science degree.

Simon was joined in holy matrimony to Mary Walker on September 17,1977 in Detroit Michigan. Simon and Mary set up residence in Flint, Michigan. After residing there for 2 years, they moved to Lansing where their two sons were born.

Simon was a hard worker and was a supervisor for General Motors for over 30 years where he retired from. He served the Boy Scouts of America and during that time held the Scout Master position for Troop 420.

Simon was affectionately known as “Puddin” to his family .He enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching football, spending time with family, and spoiling his grandchildren. He always was willing to help someone out and his laughter was undoubtably contagious.

Simon transitioned into eternal life on Monday September 17,2018 at McClaren Hospital surrounded by family. He leaves to cherish his memory : his mother, Dolores Carter; two sons, Kevin B. (Tyneshia) Carter and Richard C.(Kristen) Carter; three granddaughters, LaQuecia, Olivia, and Kelis; 4 grandsons, JaQuai, Taylor, Adrian, Kylan; sister, Carolyn (James) McCray; brother, Carlton Carter; aunt, Neicha White; God daughter, Tia (Miguel) Cunningham; sister in law Harriet(Shawn)Trummer; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

His wife Mary D. Carter, father Simon Carter Jr.; two sisters : Anita and Tanya Carter; brother Broderick Carter; and special uncle Jerome ”Bubby” White, all were waiting for him as he gained his wings and entered into eternal life.
